|Green, Sis. Candice, Greeter's Ministry|
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13)
Sis. Candice Green, is an only child born to Lynn Green and Byron Carson. She accepted Christ at a young age while attending her grandparents church (Northwestern Community in Detroit, MI) which ignited her passion to sing. As a teen-ager, she was baptized at Wings of Love MBC (Detroit, MI), under the leadership of Rev. Alvin E. Jackson where she was very active in the youth choir. While attending Grand Valley State University (near Grand Rapids, MI), she joined the GVSU Gospel choir, as well as joined the Prince of Peace MBC (Grand Rapids, MI), under the leadership of Rev. Bruce Garmon where she sung in the choir and served as a Trustee.
Sis. Green has always enjoyed "working in the vineyard," but when she returned home in 2000, the search began for a new church home. She thanks God for directing her cousin (Regina Green-Hillman) to invite her to a service at Eastern Star MBC. After attending a few Sunday services (it was too good not to join), she become a member in March 2001. Since then, she have been a "laborer" in the following:
- Food Ministry
- Armour Bearer
- Youth Ministry
- Women's Ministry
- Adult Choir
- Sunday School Ministry
God has truly given Sis. Green the strength to do some remarkable events for the kingdom. She was one of three recipients to receive a plaque from the TLCC Women's Ministry to "celebrate me" (2006). She also partnered with Macy's Department store to raise money for the church building fund (2006) and coordinate a Living Bible Museum for the youth during Black History month (2007). She also sings with the Singers and Musicians Choir under the leadership of Dr. Dorinda Clark-Cole. God has truly blessed her with numerous gifts, and she strives to use them for the betterment of the kingdom! Sis. Green thanks God for directing her Mom to join TLCC in 2006. She has three godchildren (Lauren and Jalen Williams and Eric Cook Jr.).
Currently, she is a Learning and Organizational Development Specialist at Ford Motor Company and Adjunct Professor at Baker College Downriver campus. God is awesome and she awaits for the abundant blessings God has in store for her!
