From the Apostle's Pen

The Joy of Fellowship

By Apostle Joseph Hobbs, Th.D.
Ps 32:11

Ps 32:11

Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. (KJV)

"Being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own history. And a time to pick up the pieces when it's all over." - Gloria Naylor.

I greet each of you this Lord's day in the Love of Christ that knows no bounds. Today, is a wonderful day to praise God and thank him for his everlasting love and grace toward each of us. It is also a day in which we can get to know one another better through sharing a meal, some laughter, perhaps a board game, or maybe through athletic competition. Whichever way is within your ability to perform by all means' make the best of the day.

The world that we live in is often filled with chaos and trouble seemingly on every hand. Because of the tense and often stressful nature of life, we owe it to ourselves, our families, and our fellow believers to take some time out for rest, relaxation, and enjoyment.

The time has come for believers to learn how to enjoy all that God has prepared for us in this life. This includes learning how to relax and enjoy the company, fellowship, and friendship of one another. Frankly, I don't feel that we create enough intentional opportunities to share with and to fellowship with one another. I believe that we must create more opportunities to share and to engage one another in more relaxed settings that we might learn to appreciate and to honor one another as gifts to the body of Christ.

I believe that isolationism is a subtle attempt of the enemy to neutralize and defeat a believer through fear, insecurity, and loneliness. You would be surprised to know that there are many people who rarely have the opportunity to share an enjoyable day with another person. Well, today you have the privilege and opportunity should you choose to take advantage of it, to destroy the works of Satan through meaningful sharing, caring, and fellowship. Let's make this Lord's day glorious and joyous for one another through friendly fellowship and sharing.
