The Joys of the New Life

By Apostle Joseph Hobbs, Th.D.
2 Cor 5:17

2 Cor 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (KJV)

"Napoleon believed that the fate of every battle was decided in the space of five minutes. All his maneuvering and planning led to that strategic moment of crisis, the moment of action and decision. So with you my friend. Your future, your eternal welfare is decided in but a few moments of decision." - George Sweeting

Greetings in the name of our risen Savior Jesus Christ! When I thought of what to share with you on the heels of Resurrection Sunday, I began to think of how much the lives of the disciples changed after that one single event in history. These once timid men had a holy boldness and a zeal that was irrepressible. They were determined to witness for Christ no matter what it cost them. These first century believers would from this point onward endanger their lives that they might share the joys of their new lives in Christ.

The resurrection of Christ set off an unquenchable flame in the hearts and lives of His disciples. Even today the resurrection of Christ speaks to us letting us know that we have the assurance of new things to come. Through our relationship with the Living Christ we can experience the joy ofthe abundant life in the here-and-now. There are many believers that fail to fully share in the power of Christ resurrection because they fail to study His Word and communicate with Him in prayer. The resurrection assures us that when we give our lives completely to the Lord we become new within. This newness allows us to see, to know, and to think of our lives in a different manner.

The spirit of the resurrection in us means that there is hope for a brilliant future. New life in Christ means that we can live powerfully as God the Father's legal regents in the earth. The new birth puts us in position have our kingdom rights restored. The new birth puts us in position to experience the best that God has for us. Once we are born again and we seek to know the will of God for our lives through our obedience to and study of the Word, we can live each day triumphantly.
