Greetings to each of you, the beloved of the Lord. I share with you today these few lines with a heart filled with concern for the future of the Body of Christ. When I look at the fields of labor around us, I realize the depth of Jesus' statement, "the harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few." There are too many of us who have grown passive, weak, and frail, because we fail to receive and to apply the Word of God that we say we believe. There are countless numbers of disciples within the church local and universal who are content with a knowledge of whom Jesus is historically but not personally. It is only through knowing Christ personally that we gain the power to live victoriously as the children of God.
The text above reminds us of the fact that battles in our lives are won by standing, which is in fact mounting an offensive against enemy. attacks. The Word of God says that we are to stand with integrity in the righteousness of Christ.
I have summarily watched as one-by-one believers have been picked off by personal defeat and lethargy, without even launching so much as a defensive against the enemy of our faith, Satan! It seems that we would rather switch than to fight. Many of us don't believe that warfare against the enemy of our soul is necessary and essential to both our survival and our success, but it is! In fact, you are declared by God to be a soldier whether you use your weapons or not. I ask you where are the tried and true soldiers of the cross? Where are the people of God who understand that our standing is an effort to maintain victories that have already been won? Will the real believers please stand up? Aren't your sons and daughters, husbands and wives worth the fight? Isn't your quality of life as promised by God worth it? Now is the time to refuse to surrender any more territory. Stand for truth!
