The Prayer of the Remnant

By Apostle Joseph Hobbs, Th.D.
Jer 42:2-3
Jer 42:2-3

"And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us: ) That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do." (KJV)

"The diamond cannot be polished without friction, nor the man perfected without trails." - Unknown

Greetings fellow co-laborers in the name of Jesus Christ the Righteous. I pen these few line to encourage those of you who are in the midst of the press and who wonder what will God make of it all. I am convinced in my heart that the Lord is purging the Body of Christ and is pressing the remnant that we might be positioned to receive the harvest of the Lord in all areas of our lives.

Our prayer in this season is one of stability that we may stand and endure while God purges and cleanses the hearts of his people to perfect their love toward him. The people of God in the text prayed that god "may shew" which means among other things that god would announce, expose, manifest, explain, or predict their course of direction. The essence of this phrasing suggests that they knew that there was need of a strategy from the Lord. God is calling his people to consecrate themselves that their ability to hear would be increased that they might not miss the next move of the Lord.

The people knew that after god gave them a strategy it would be their responsibility to walk it out until the promise of god is fulfilled in their lives. Beloved, I remind you that we serve a God of covenant.

"Know therefore that the LORD thy god, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations." (Deut 7:9-KJV).

Now is not the time to quit! It is the time to humble yourself under the hand of the Mighty God for exaltation is eminent! Stand!
