"Patient Endurance the Key to Effective Fruit-bearing"

Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. (KJV)

""Success seems largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go."

"Success . . . seems to be connected to action. Successful men keep moving. They may make mistakes, but they don't quit."

Remember: in the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins, not through strength, but by perseverance. --Harold Keown

Greetings to each of you the sons and daughters of God. I would like to share just a few words with you concerning the importance of patience or perseverance. While both words seem to be synonymous with one another there is in fact a marked difference. Patience emphasizes calmness, self-control, and the willingness or ability to tolerate delay. While perseverance is steady persistence in adhering to a course of action, a belief, or a purpose; steadfastness. So then another way of putting it is, patience is the ability to calmly tolerate delay, while perseverance is a steady advancing toward a goal while enduring hardship and difficulty along the way.

I believe that in order to be proven productive in the things of God it will require both patience and perseverance. Patience because the seed of the Word of God that we receive will not always bear fruit immediately without delay. On the other hand there are times in the course of anticipating the promise of the Word in our lives we must endure some form of difficulty if we expect to be successful in God.

There are too many who like the parable of the sower of seed have not waited long enough for the seed of the Word to take root before giving up on God's promise to them. Perhaps the most difficult thing in life to do, is to learn to wait patiently yet expectantly? There are many wonderful things that our heavenly Father has promised to provide for His children, which we will not receive or enjoy unless we learn to accept the ministry of patience in attaining the promises of God. There is certainty in God, you will reap if you don't faint!
